Shopping for a $700 mid-range mirrorless camera

I’m in the market for a $700ish mid-range mirrorless camera. I’ve been working on a pros and cons list in my head and thought I’d get a blog post out about it.

Things I’m looking for (in no particular order):

  • WiFi (I lied above, this is #1)
  • iPhone App for accessing photos and remote control (#2)
  • Good for shooting sports (water polo and swimming)
  • Bracketing
  • Timelapse (I watch a lot of Casey Neistat’s stuff and envy his ability to do great time lapses)
  • 4k video (would be nice, not a requirement)
  • Selfie-able display (the tilt up and down only ones seem lame)
  • Lightweight
  • Decent low light shooting

What I started looking at before I decided on a Mirrorless was a Canon EOS Rebel T6i Digital SLR with EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Lens from Amazon for $849 (and at Costco for $999 in a big kit). I finally just decided that I want something mirrorless and started my search.

What I’ve been looking at:

Timelapse test

Panasonic DMC-G7KS it most likely the one I’ll end up with, what do you think?
