Google Rolls Out YouTube Kids app for iOS & Android
Little kids want to emulate their parents or even their older siblings watching and laughing at YouTube videos but savvy parents with young kids that not all videos are created equal. For a while parents have been building custom playlists and curating videos for their kids to watch. There are even some YouTube channels that tout that they have kid friendly content or have curated playlists.
The folks at Google have noticed this and built their own app for iOS and Android.

5 Facebook privacy changes by the privacy dinosaur
Facebook’s recent privacy changes are designed to make your account easier to manage with the assistance of the privacy dinosaur.
Facebook hasn’t done much in the form of changes to its logos or branding, they also don’t have very many cute little characters to work into their user interfaces. I’d imagine that if there was one place in their user experience that a cute little blue dinosaur could help it would be in their typically over complicated privacy settings.

Chromecast: stream local content? Not yet.
Devices nowadays come with rules, restrictions and other things that the hacking community isn’t too keen on. Developer of AllCast AKA AirCast Koushik Dutta made an announcement stating the following regarding his app and Chromecast:
Heads up. Google’s latest Chromecast update intentionally breaks AllCast. They disabled ‘video_playback’ support from the ChromeCast application.
Given that this is the second time they’ve purposefully removed/disabled[1] the ability to play media from external sources, it confirms some of my suspicions that I have had about the Chromecast developer program:

Me too, I’m starting to call it the “Participation Badge for Life” because it seems like just doing nothing gets you exactly that, nothing. Now that I’m starting to get more motivated with this I want to give back that participation badge and work up to the bronze, silver and finally gold.

Why are you switching to Android from the iPhone?
So far three of my friends and two of my co-workers have switched from iPhones and purchased Android based phones, why is that? What is so compelling? Is AT&T to blame? Are the restrictions that AT&T set in place with Apple limiting innovation? To be perfectly honest I’m an Apple fanboy, I switched years ago and most of my computers in our home are Macs (or pretending to be Apple hardware).
