How to make Chrome Profile Manager better
If you are like me you have quite a few profiles in Google Chrome and you switch between them all the time. The new Chrome person switcher just sucks and requires too many clicks to switch a user (click name in upper right, click switch user and then click user in popup)
There has to be a better way so I started digging. Google has this “chrome://flags” page you can go to to make change to your Chrome settings.

Little kids want to emulate their parents or even their older siblings watching and laughing at YouTube videos but savvy parents with young kids that not all videos are created equal. For a while parents have been building custom playlists and curating videos for their kids to watch. There are even some YouTube channels that tout that they have kid friendly content or have curated playlists.
The folks at Google have noticed this and built their own app for iOS and Android.

What if Google Glass just didn’t have a camera?
In my previous post about the Social Implications of Google Glass I talked about how the main reason why people are going to be afraid of you wearing Glass is it’s onboard camera. Aside from it not being as cool, what if Glass didn’t have a camera? When smartphones started to get popular a number of companies were selling them with and without cameras. I wanted to take a look at what if Google Glass didn’t have a camera at all, would the Google Glass is banned on this premises ideas still exist?

Chromecast: stream local content? Not yet.
Devices nowadays come with rules, restrictions and other things that the hacking community isn’t too keen on. Developer of AllCast AKA AirCast Koushik Dutta made an announcement stating the following regarding his app and Chromecast:
Heads up. Google’s latest Chromecast update intentionally breaks AllCast. They disabled ‘video_playback’ support from the ChromeCast application.
Given that this is the second time they’ve purposefully removed/disabled[1] the ability to play media from external sources, it confirms some of my suspicions that I have had about the Chromecast developer program:

First day impressions of Google Glass Explorer Edition
Two weeks ago I was notified by Google Glass team that my Glass was available for me to purchase and pickup. Using their website I selected the date June 8th at 11am and the location closest to me, Venice Beach CA. The days leading up to my Glass pickup day involved me doing more and more research on how glass works and how I can use it in various capacities. A web developer friend of mine and I have been working on a few projects and getting all of our API code in place.

My last day before Google Glass: tomorrow I become a Glasshole
Today is my last day without Google Glass. It was a very busy day for me, a day that I wished I already had my Glass. Earlier this year I as accepted in the #ifihadglass Twitter and Google+ contest and recently paid for my Google Glass. Today is the day I’ll be picking them up in Venice Beach. Today got me thinking about some ways that I could have used Glass to capture and share the various events I was involved in today.

Apple vs Google vs Microsoft: living across three technology universes
There have always been a couple different technology camps that have been out there. Primarily it’s been Microsoft and Apple, but a third player is getting more and more involved and that’s Google. It’s interesting to me to see how these three different companies are either interacting with one another or not interacting with one another at all, and just the level of interaction that’s happening. Now mind you there are a few different ways of going about things.

My plans for Google Glass: I'm an #ifihadglass winner, and so are you
Back in February Google setup a contest using the hashtag #ifihadglass on both Twitter and Google+ where entrents told Google what they would do with Glass if they had it. Once the 8000 winners were selected and notified the big waiting game began. As someone that in of the 8000 winners I’ve been watching my Google+ notifications and my inbox in hopes of being notified. Because I’ll be sharing my experiences here as I go, you’ll get an almost first hand look into what Google Glass is capable of.

New Google Glass XE5 software update adds Google+ support
Google has pushed out its latest Google Glass software update, version XE5, last night and it includes Google+ integration. Phandroid has posted this list on their site. Being able to answer incoming hangout notifications and commenting on posts on G+ seem to be some of the big items in this update. Glass itself runs on Android based software, but is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices. The latest software update adds new functionality and counters some outside criticism that the device thus far is more flash than feature laden.

Hanging out with Google
My favorite part of Google+ is Google Hangout, and I think after you finish reading this post you too will enjoy using it and finding new ways to add it to your workflow. Google+, sometimes read as Google Plus, is a social network that has many facets, but the one that sticks out the most is Hangout which allows you to have a video conference with 9 friends or colleagues.

Tips to make the most of your Disneyland Annual Pass
My wife Jen and I bought Disneyland Annual passes yesterday (3/20/09) and we’ve been working on ways to make technology help us on our trips to The Park. Before we bought our passes (and went to Disneyland) yesterday I started looking on the iPhone to find some apps related to Disneyland and found these two:
Disneyland California Mini Guide [iTunes, $0.99] Not the most in depth look at Disneyland by any means but it does not require internet access for the app to work.

My Wife brought back the Friday Five
My awesome Wife Jen has brought back something on her blog that we use to do every Friday on our LiveJournal’s back in the day… Friday Five. The idea is to read my answers then copy paste the questions to your own blog to give you something to blog about :) Lets begin…
Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not? No, not very much in the “meat space” but on my computer(s) I am.
