Using ChatGPT to optimize YouTube content for WPwatercooler
I recently started using ChatGPT to try and optimize the YouTube content for my website, WPwatercooler. In the past, I struggled with writing descriptive text for the "in the description down below" section of my videos and found the process of creating metadata for my episodes to be tedious. I hired a YouTube consultant to provide some critiques and recommendations, but I still needed a way to make the process more efficient.

I got to sit down and talk with John Hawkins of 9seeds for his new show Hawk Talk Podcast. We discussed a bunch of stuff in the 45 minutes we talked (I think we pushed in about 2 hours of content in that 45 mins, crazy!)

How to use SoundCloud for podcast hosting

Hosting your podcast with a reliable host will insure you that your listeners are downloading from a reputable company, they will have fast downloads and that each download is tracked. In this video I go over how to take a recently uploaded mp3 file to SoundCloud and turn on a few settings so that the file can be downloaded or used in a podcast.
In the video I mention that I don’t use the RSS feed feature as my “podcast feed” in iTunes (or any other aggregator) because I believe that I should “own my feed”.

Simply Spoilers Podcast
I’ve hosted a few podcasts over the last few years and I’m looking to add another one to my list. WPwatercooler, my most recent one has gone strong for the last 90+ episodes and has been a joy each week to record. I’ve wanted to start a new one with a non technical slant yet something I can have fun with. The technical stuff is fun to me but that’s easy, I wanted to do something that is a bit outside of that.

Create Google Hangouts quickly with these easy URLs
If you are like me you spend a lot of time in Google Hangouts either for your podcasts or for a quick video conversation with someone. Google doesn’t make it easy to generate a hangout and then provide you with a sharable URL to someone. Digging around online I found two URLs that I’ll keep bookmarked:
Standard Google Hangout URL http://hangouts.google.com/start
This will create a standard Google Hangout that you can invite your friends to.

How to start a podcast using WordPress and PowerPress
I’ve been doing podcasts for since early 2006 where I was running two different podcasts and was also president of the OC Podcasters (the website is still up too). Back then I was rolling my own RSS feeds and then got into using a plugin for WordPress called podPress. This plugin still exists and is maintained, but I have since moved from that podcast over to PowerPress.

Downloading YouTube videos and extracting audio from them

Today I thought I’d do a video tutorial on how to use 4K Video Downloader to download videos from YouTube and extract the audio from them. This will create an mp3 file that you can use for your audio podcast. I use this same workflow to create the audio podcast version of WPwatercooler (my weekly YouTube web show and podcast).

The Passholders - A new Disneyland related webshow and podcast
Last week I launched my latest project The Passholders, it is a Google Hangout based YouTube webshow and podcast. Our frist episode was recorded on March 1 2013 and it had Amy Ululani Naluai, Jennifer Tucker and our two hosts Chad Elliott and me, Jason Tucker. Our goal is to bring a new look at those crazy people that go to Disneyland weekly (or more than once a week on some occasions) and share our experience with you.

How I fell into Podcasting and WordPress
How I got into WordPress I love WordPress, I’ve been using it since May 13th 2004 when I wrote this very twitteresque blog post to my moveable type blog:
The time has finally come where Moveable type is going to the sh*tter, it will still work, but they won't be adding any more features to the free version. I'm going to be switching over to the WordPress platform over the next week.

WPwatercooler - A new webshow and podcast about WordPress
So I've been thinking about self promotion a bit lately. As a developer it's hard to showcase what you know and how well you know it. Showing someone a portfolio of code isn't going to do much for you and showing a website design doesn't help with conveying you are a developer on that pretty website. In thinking about this I came to the realization that unless you know the developer already or you've had a conversation with them you really don't know them or how well they know their craft.

Too many outlets not enough data to output
I had a realization today I’m lacking content for all of my blogs, in the past I had all these great idea for postings (video, audio & text) but never the right place to put them. It all started with abstrakone.com, my personal website. I posted all sorts of stuff there and it became my catch all for ideas and such. I later created jasontucker.blog and moved all the abstrakone.com stuff over to there.

Hacienda Christian Fellowship - The red church i
Last night the church came out in support of Pastor Eddie Romero by painting the exterior red. The same red that is used in the Chinese flag. For those of you that don't know, Pastor Romero did a non violent protest in Beijing by painting 2 hotel rooms with words requesting the release of 5 religious prisoners.
