# This is what it sounds like…when Tamagotchi cry

Phillip Torrone from Make comes up with a clever way to “listen” to what the tamagotchi’s are saying via their IR ports. He uses a Griffin Total Remote to capture the “sound” and then later wants to make a virtual (virtual) pet. He hopes to do this on a PDA or a ipod. This got me thinking… theres a number of “remote control emulators” for both laptops that have IR as well as on the palm “learning remotes” they call them. I wonder if something like that would would for a better send/receive method.
