HOWTO: Replace Internet Explorer with Mozilla in FeedDemon

I hate IE.. HATE. Internet Explorer is the debel and well, I like Firefox, or mozilla for that matter.

FeedDemon uses IE by default in its reader pane of the application. I got so annoyed with popups and debug messages from jacked up websites that I had to find a way to switch IE for Mozilla. After some research I found out how:

Nick posted a year ago on how to make this happen, I wont reitterate his instructions here, but it requires a download of the Mozilla ActiveX Control and a reg edit.

Instead of downloading what he suggests for the Mozilla ActiveX Control (since that doc is old, and the version of that file could be old) download it here:
Go grab the latest and greatest version from this site.
The version I’m using can be got from: Mozilla 1.7.7 ActiveX Control Installer make sure to reboot your computer once you have it all installed, because the right click functionality goes wonky if not.

And as for the reg edit.. this reg file should do the trick:

Once your done with those 2 things, go into feed burner and put a check in the box next to the Mozilla internal browser text and restart FeedDemon.

None of this is supported by Nick or Bradbury software so dont go bug him or I if it doesn’t work 🙂
