I’ve been working on a series of blog posts regarding my move from Plex to Jellyfin using small list of other open source to replace the TV movies live TV photos, videos, audiobooks, and so on and so forth with different solutions and also making sure that migrating the data that was collected from Plex into these new systems. I recently installed Proxmox VE on a Dell desktop computer that once ran Home Assistant OS bare metal on it. Now in Proxmox VE I can do snapshots and other fun things with it.
Blog moved from PikaPods to MagicPages, and it's been a smoother ride. Still on Ghost CMS, still writing more than I'm tinkering with the platform which is the goal.
The homelab has grown considerably. Still on Unraid, still running the full *arr stack, but the big shift lately has been migrating from Plex to Jellyfin, documenting the whole thing as a blog series. Jellyseerr is now the request frontend, Authentik handles SSO across the stack via OIDC, and I've got Grafana/Prometheus monitoring running on a dedicated Raspberry Pi. The monitoring setup has become its own rabbit hole.
Stood up Authentik as a central identity provider for the homelab under a home domain. Getting single sign-on working across Jellyfin, Homebox, and other services has been satisfying, even when it wasn't.
The roses are still getting attention. The woodworking tools remain patient. The security cameras are now identifying every bird that visits the yard, which my wife and I did not expect to enjoy as much as we do.
Following the Formula 1 season closely.
