IT folk, is it just me or does rebooting a windows computer fix about 90% of all support call problems?
That’s pretty sad… When my ‘users’ call me for help most of the time I tell them “Yeah, give the computer a reboot, let’s see what it does” and later I’ll here in passing “Jason rules, he fixed my computer today”. The thing is most of the time it does fix the problem for good. I’d say 15% of the time I get a call back saying “well, you fixed one problem for me that wasn’t related to this one, but I’m still having such and such problem.”
Give me your IT war stories.. I wanna hear’em. What one thing to do have to fix all the time? What one thing do you have issues with over and over again? How often does the reboot trick work?
