My Monday (umm, on tuesday?)

Monday –
Today was a pretty crazy day at work; I came in and began working. We ordered some Dell servers and I finished installing them onto the rack on Friday and started installing the software. Today the server was asking me for the serial keys for Windows 2003 server. I look in the box and sure nuff, damn Dell didn’t include them. I give them a call and I was told I “shouldn’t have gotten the discs yet, they were still in pre production.” Uhhh, what? “They are in my hands, I swear!” he said to hang on to them, since they are useless without the key, and I should be receiving the keys in the next couple of days in the mail. Odd, the keys and the media are treated different. So I did some prepwork on the other server we got and alls set for the software peeps to install their shit on it later this week (I hope).

Next up was the website, oh man, lots of updating done on it. I imported about 400 items into the DB using CSV (comma separated values) and then handed it over to the manager that’s in charge of the product catalogs. She approved and all was good. Later she came by and told me I’ve been kicking ass at what I have been doing at work. Feels good to know you replaced the previous person and had no snags. 

Later my boss Marc cam in and told me that I’m going to have to take some picture of the items for the latest catalog, I guess they want them up and rolling quicker than the catalog designers take to set it up. Usually the website’s content is determined by the catalog release date, I guess its not the case this time. That’s cool its just extra work involved on my part. One thing I did mention to them is they need a new digital camera, oh man is theirs old!
