The times they are a-changin’
Our internet access here at the office went down. We have a T1 through mpower communications, I called them and they said something about a “core router” being down in ontario and were connected through it. *shrug* It trips me out how depentant we here at the office are on the internet access. Some people check their email non stop all day long (even before the 3 minute automatic email check goes off). Some people here wont ever notice it, then there are others that are on aim or yahoo or whatever or are listening to streaming audio. Yeah, im pretty lax about what my users use, as long as they dont have some p2p bs going on I’m pretty cool with it.
Today (as you saw in the post before this one) we went to our Dr’s appointment and we got to see our baby on the ultrasound machine. It was cool to see her move on the screen and see jen’s reaction and he saying “I felt that!”. Man I love technology, the magic of ultrasound and converting those sort of waves into a graphical representation is just amazing. I’m pretty damn excited that close to one month from now my family will be at home with our new baby. But its quite a journey we have to do before that can happen. Coming up we’ll have our friends and family over to celebrate the fruits of our procreation 9 months earlier. Weeks later I’ll be by Jen’s side as the baby comes into this world, then we’ll be at the hospital until they release Jen and Jessalyn.
The house’s smell will change to baby powder and poopie diapers. New sounds will become second nature: baby crys, coohs, and weird battery powered baby attention grabbers on just about every device she will be in or on. Other things will change too but I feel its all for the better, I truely want to be a dad more so than I am now. Its one thing to be a step dad.. Isaac comes over on the weekends and takes Caitlin and Chris out to places.. but this one is Jen and Mine. As much as I dont want to treat any of the kids different in some cases (like this one) were going to have to. Fortunatly theres a 10 and 9 year gap between them and Jessalyn, so were not going to have to deal with all that so much later on down the road.
Theres some people here at work that have gone through this same situation with their kids and having “2 families” where the gap between their eldest to their youngest is quite a bit. I’ll see what they have to say about all that.
Yay for hump day! (well I get paid today.. hehe so its not so bad).
