The Toddler Owner’s Manual
The Baby Owner’s Manual that I purchased before my daughter was born was a great way for a technical person like myself to learn the ways of the Baby. I just picked up this book “The Toddler Owner’s Manual” and its just as good if not better. They have cute schematic diagrams with arrows indicating what each of the toddlers parts are. The book uses technical words to describe common things such as “Tantrum Amplifier” for the mouth and the “Fuel Requirements” for the baby’s food. It reads like a Chilton or Hayes manual for your baby. Other terms like “External Casing” for Clothes and “Waste Management” for using the restroom add fun to the thoughtful and informative text. First time Dads will get a kick out of this, and will end up referencing it when they are left to “babysit” this own child during “Bunco Night” when Mom is away.
If your thinking of purchasing a new Dad some books on the subject of taking care of a baby and/or toddler, I’d recommend of of these books in this series (The Baby Owners Manual & The Toddler Owner’s Manual).
