Weekend Update

Saturday we went Jen’s Ex’s family’s Thanksgiving. We drove down to Sandra’s house and met up with the family. Traffic was a nightmare on the 5 freeway something happened in Anaheim’ish area and it was backed up for miles. I got off the freeway and headed south through the City of Orange and got back on the freeway past the accident. We never did find out what happened tho. Most of the family arrived late due to the traffic, dinner started a little later than expected but it was well worth it. I sat next to Isaac’s Grand Father who is a hoot to be around, we laughed and joked and talked about tv shows we watch. Once the convo switched over to Spanish TV I didn’t have much to say. I did find out that most of the channels have 1/2 dressed hot chicks on them, and joked that Grandpa likes watching those shows the best. We headed home and I didn’t stay up like usual so I could help Jen with the housecleaning for “Sunday Dinner” we were hosting.

I woke up at a reasonable hour and to my surprise my baby daughter was laying next to me in bed coo’ing. I played with her for about 45 minutes then got up and hung out with Jen. She took off to the store and I got the baby to go to sleep and started picking up random crap the kids and adults have left around the house. Jen went to her grandmothers house and spoke with her uncle, he wanted me to refill his propane tank for him. I drove up to the house and got an empty tank and headed to Sears to exchange it (this propane take was WAY old and I knew that the refill guy wouldn’t do it, but I knew that Sears would do an exchange so I’d end up with a NEW filled propane tank.) I arrived at sears and placed my tank next to the countless others that were sitting next to the exchange box outside. I spoke to “Alice” that worked in the bbq dept, I told her I was here to exchange the tank for a filled one she nodded and had me wait for about 10 minutes while she was on the phone then told me “Oh I’m sorry, were all out of full tanks, the guy from the company hasn’t come by in over a week to pickup the empties and we haven’t gotten any new ones yet”. I asked “Do any of the other Sears do this return program?” “Oh yeah all of them do, even the La Puente Mall store”. Frustrated I left but instead of taking my old tank with me, I picked up one of the newer looking returned tanks. I headed to the service station to see if they would fill it for me. The service manager came out and told me it would be 16.02 for the fillup, I agreed and he began filling it. 20 minutes late and still no propane in the take, he fussed with it the whole time “Did you have any problems with this take before?” I lied “Uhhh no, never have” he said to try U-Haul next door since he couldn’t get it to fill. I left and headed to Sears at La Puente Mall. Ends up they donut do the service since its a security risk because its at a mall. Again frustrated I head to Home Depot, I got in line, paid the checker and she walked me out to do the exchange. Finally happy I head back to Grandma’s house to install the tank. Total time spent, around 2 hours.

Later I arrived to a clean house and hung out with the baby more while Jen ran around the house cleaning. Jen said she had some boxes she wanted to take to GoodWill, I loaded up the Durango and made the donation. I bought a few cute baby clothes from them and headed back. Nora showed up while I was gone and she was going through the crazy amount of yarn that Jen promised would be there for the girls to go through and hopefully take :). More people arrived and I was showing off the new Milk Drop visuals that my Xbox Media Center could do. Since I had a captive audience I also did a showing of Pimp My Ride UK. Everyone got a kick out of it. Jen was finishing up crockpot beanless chili and then dinner was served. The food was excellent and everyone was praising Jen for her efforts. We played a few rounds of Scatagories and had a good time. Towards the end of the get together we had build your own Ice Creams then people headed home.

I had a great time, we were happy to have everyone over and can’t wait for the next one.
