Weekend Update
Friday:
Other peoples children (OPC) where over at our house for Caitlin’s birthday. Jen spent the good part of the day setting up for it, getting things put away. I came home around 4:00 to help with watching the baby while she ran around like a mad woman. The kids started to come one by one, their parents yelling “SUCKER!” as they drove off (to most likely go catch a movie or 2). X number of girls came and 2 boys. One of the boys is this weird love interest of one of the girls. Well, you cant say LOVE, but more like “LIKE interest”. Anywho, we played some games, then ate cake and topped it off with loading the xbox with Caitlin’s music and watching the kids go nuts dancing in the living room. She has this Radio Disney mp3 album on her computer and I mounted it to the xbox and let the kids control what songs to listen to. Songs like: Macarena – Los Del Rio, I Got You (I Feel Good) – James Brown, We Will Rock You – Queen, We Like To Party – (with Vengaboys), and other songs like that. There was also a few songs the kids dance to at school that are “line dancing” songs, where they tell you to cha-cha and put your left foot in and etc. Anyhow they danced, I took pictures (so later in life I can make fun of Caitlin for it!). We opened presents, Caitlin end up with 3 copies of Black Eyed Peas (yes, that damn CD with the “My Humps” song on it.) and a bunch of other loot. By 10ish everyone was home, and we got our trashed house back to our selves.. well sorta. Caitlin was having a sleep over too. So I asked the 5 girls what movies they wanted to watch. I then headed to Hollywood Video and rented the old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sandlot. I converted the couch into a bed and popped popcorn for the girls and told them to have fun. I went in the other room and played on my computer and Jess and Jen went to bed. Around 1 i went to sleep and the girls were watching Willy Wonka. Around 2:30 Jen woke up to the girls making noise in the room adjacent to ours (the room they were suppose to sleep and gossip in is on the other side of the house) so she kicked them out of that room and had them go to sleep or at least stay in the living room away from us.
Saturday:
8ish I rose and the girls were up playing, I packed up the couch and watched the baby while Jen did her thing. Slowly the girls got picked up and around 11ish we headed down to Chiabrit and Andim’s house for a kids party. We were pretty pooped from the night before, and prolly looked like we didn’t want to be there. We got to meet Andi’s cousin and bf, hang out with them a bit, ate yummy cake and I got to talk to Chia a bit about the upcoming changes in his life. I enjoy talking to him, its a shame his work doesnt allow much time for him to chat it up during the day. I wouldn’t mind shooting the shit with him a bit more. It got dark and we grew more tired We hung out in the house and watched a game of Scene It (one of our favorite games). The baby was crying and wasnt having it, she just wanted to go to sleep and she likes to fuss for a while before doing so. So we said our goodbyes around 6 and headed home. (side note: Thanks for inviting us Nate and Andi, it was good to hang out again, we should have you guys over soon). Jen stayed home and fed the baby once we got home and the kids an I went to Home Depot to look for an Christmas Tree. When we got there we were told they were all dried up and said that by tomorrow they should have a new stock of them. I was pooped and didn’t wanna drive around looking for one, so we went home and I told the kids we’d look on sunday.
Sunday:
We took Caitlin shopping with her birthday money and went to various stores looking for this “PixelChix” toy that she got 1 of and wanted another so they can connect and be twice and noisy. 30 something bucks later for it and then we went home. Jen and Jess stayed home and Chris, Caitlin and I went to Home Depot yet again. I spent about 45-1hr in line to pay for the tree, had the bottom cut and then had it netted and threw it in the durango. We got home and put the tree up and got the lights on it. We went with white and colored lights and it turned out pretty good. The star on top of the tree didn’t work so we took it back to Walmart and got a replacement. I tested it this time by taking it to the electronics dept and plugging it in next to the TV’s. With the tree topped we had the kids start putting on the ornaments and everyone had a good time doing it. I took lots of pictures so i’ll be posting those pretty soon.
