Weekend Update 5/19

Friday: I went to work then came home and got ready to go to a party an old friend of mine was throwing. I left home and headed out to Moreno Valley and I went to the party and was the first one there. I arrived around 8:30-9:00pm hung out with Ajay, who I haven’t seen in ages and then waiting for some more guests to arrive. More guests arrived and the liquor began to flow. George who is an old friend of both Ajay and I arrived with his wife and kid in tow. George and Ajay are old BBS buddies from way back when so It was cool to get some of the old term going “HSLink was way better than Zmodem”. Around 12:30am people started to leave and I stepped outside to say my goodbyes. Since Ajay and I haven’t seen each other for a while he and I and one of his buddies chatted it up for another hour and a half outside. I ended up leaving at 2:00am and headed to my moms in Norco.

Saturday: I woke up at 6:45am and drove back past Moreno Valley and an additional 30 miles to see my brother who is in jail in Banning. It was good to see him and were awaiting his trial and any other info they will give us about the case. After that I got to thinking “well, I have driven over 200 miles already, I might as well finish off the rest of the tank in this V8” and drive to Fontana to see the old digs. Man, Fontana… at least the area I lived in is pretty jacked up. I took some pictures of the old house and one of my best friends Corey’s old house. After that I drove home and chilled at home with the family.

Later that day we packed up some stuff and headed to the local Carnival happening at a church near the kids school. We met up with some friends of our family and hung out and played games and rode some rides. The kids had a good time there and we actually ended up buying too many of the presale ride tickets and I scalped them at cost to some kids that were very happy. 1 ride = 1 presale ticket OR 1 ride = 3 to 5 X 0.75 cents so it was a killer deal.

Sunday: Isaac’s GF offered to watch the baby (and the 2 other kids) at her house while we would go see a movie. Jen picked out The DaVinci Code and we had our hearts set on seeing it. We headed out to her house and dropped them off. Once we got there we hung out and talked and it started to get close to 45mins before we needed to be there. Both Jen and I like being at the theater early and hate being those people that ask “are those seats taken?” that lots of people do. So we took off at got there about 20 mins before the movie started. Far to late for my taste but we attempted to get seats. The theater we went to “Metro Point” in Costa Mesa has fairly decent theaters but it seems like they over booked this one. We gave up and returned the tickets. We hopped back into the car and drive back to Huntington Beach, I got off at Beach and thought “dinner sounds nice.. how about Macaroni Grill”. I pulled in and Jen said “ya know, as nice as this is, I’d rather have the brewery on main street”. I agreed and we headed out. While we were driving by the new Bella center or whatever its called near the 405 we saw protesters protesting the DaVinci Code. Jen and I both looked at each other and I said “Umm, we should see if they have a showing happening soon and go see it” We thanked the protesters for advertising the movie and laughed about it for a while. The showtime was perfect so we got tickets and ended up being one of the first people in the theater. The movie was good, Jen liked it and was happy she read the book. I didn’t read the book and enjoyed it as well. We grabbed some Taco Bell on the way back to getting the kids and then got them and headed home.

Friday to Saturday I did an “A Day In My Life” which you can see here:
