Who uses google desktop?

So who that reads this blog/lj uses Google Desktop? I havent tried it yet but I’m not one for taking away real estate on my screen with “bars”. So do any of you use it, if so, sell me on it. Whats so cool about it, and how do you use it in your day to day life on the web? Does it work with Firefox, or is it IE only? How does it help with your workflow?
